Jake Paul sent "terrifying" warning about Mike Tyson despite 30-year age gap

Jake Paul has been warned that Mike Tyson can still get the better of him in their fight despite their 30-year age difference.

Social media star Paul will fight his idol-turned-rival Tyson on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. The exact ruleset for the fight is still unclear but neither man will be wearing headgear and they are pushing for it to be a professional fight. Tyson hung up his gloves almost two decades ago but did return for a one-off exhibition against Roy Jones Jr four years ago.

Tyson will be 58 by the time he steps foot in the ring but UFC commentator Joe Rogan thinks the boxing legend still has what it takes to cause Paul problems. "I don't give a f*** if he's [57], that's still Mike Tyson. He trains with Rafael Cordeiro, who’s a legend in MMA. He runs Kings Mixed Martial Arts. Rafael is a world-renowned trainer," Rogan said on his podcast.

"When you see him holding the mitts for Tyson and Tyson is smashing the mitts. Jesus! That guy can still f*** you up. In this world with hormone replacement and vitamins. He does all this electrical muscle stimulation recovery stuff. When they were training Mike for that Roy Jones fight they were using state-of-the-art science.

"I don’t give a f*** if he’s [57] years old that guy will hurt you. If Jake Paul’s on the other side of the ring and he sees Mike Tyson bobbing and weaving he’s going to have a recognition. He’s going to look over and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s really Mike Tyson.’ At [57] the power is the last thing to go but the thing is the speed is still there. It’s terrifying."

Paul fought for the second time as a professional on the undercard of Tyson's last fight as he brutally KO'd NBA star Nate Robinson. 'The Problem Child' now holds a record of 9-1 and was in action earlier this month, stopping unknown boxer Ryan Bourland in one round. Paul has stated that his end goal in boxing is to win a world title, something Tyson first achieved as a 20-year-old.

'Iron Mike' has been complimentary of Paul's transition from internet fame to boxing as he said: 'I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul. He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT."
